Removing programs from startup

Hello,

My machine seems to have much less RAM available than it should, and I think it's because of programs that automatically run on startup. I emptied the Startup folder under Start Menu>Programs, but when I check system information there are several programs that are listed as running on startup. How do I prevent them from doing this?

Download and install either "msconfig.exe" or "Spybot Search & Destroy". Both have the ability to stop programs running at startup:

msconfig.exe:
