how to remove one an operating system?

recently i have reinstalled my operating system (windows 2000). the installation was successfull... but when i start my laptop.. it ask me to select for which operating system to boot for... both of them are windows 2000... however there is only one which is working. the other one gave some error msg.. (probably i deleted the partition which i used to install my previous Windows 2000).
*** My Question is what can i do to delete the one (previous one) that malfunction? i would like the PC not to ask me to choose for which OS i would like to use...coz there is only one actually...

You need to remove the extra OS entry from the Boot.ini file.
