How i change the registry in window 2000 server???

Hi,

Anyone know how to change the registry in window 2000 server?

Actually i know is that clicked Start> Run > type regedit, and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET> SERVICES> LAMANSERVER>PARAMETERS>enablesecuritysignature,
then changed the value to "0".

but after i changed this value to "0", and shut down my computer, then start again. This value will automatically changed back to value "1".

So, whatever how many time i changed this value to "0", the window is still automatically changed back to value "1". So, anyone know this problem? please help me...
