windows 2000 Continual Reboot

Read some previous posts similar to this and can't find a resolution.

Issue just started.
Computer (AMD Duron 750 Mhz 1GB Ram)
Win 2000 Pro OS

Gets through post fine,
Starts windows, just before desktop screen, quick flash of deadly blue screen (can't capture code) and computer reboots.

Tried all modes (Safe, VGA, Logging, last Good, etc), same issue.
Tried unplugging everthing and removing all cards except keyboard & monitor, same issue.
Can load with CD. Tried repair, did not work.
Load to Repair, Console, can navigate to some directories, but not all.
Can go to c:, c:\WINNT, dirctories beneath WINNT, but not any others beneath c (Documents and Settings, or any other except WINNT, reports "Access Denied" and I am logged in as Admin).

Any ideas:
How can I capture the deadly blue code?
Why can't I navigate to copy/move files to another drive so I can format/reload SW?

Would consider myself an intermediate ++ computer user. Am comfortable working with the OS, so if the response is technical, I should be OK.

Any and all help is appreciated.

would you consider different option such as live CD boot ? that way you can see all your drives and move file around...

Thanks for the info

Update / Close Post:
The CD worked to get me up and running again. Thought others might want to know so they can try the same solution. It did take a while to get the CD 'built', but it was worth it in the end. Thanks again. Still don't know what caused it originally, but it is resolved for now. I consider this post closed.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try. Looks like it will be a useful CD to have anyway.
Jim
