I can't believe no one on here hasn't ever heard of any way to do this / microsoft hasn't provided a way. it is free software that will be run on a microsoft licensed copy of windows 2000. any insight would be awesome.

i just want to say that this website is full of a bunch of losers who don't even know how to partition drives and do not try any new ideas that their small minds can't comprehend. I can't believe that not even one person posted a reply to my thread. I would have even been satisfied if someone would have posted "No is no such documentation of this." Then I would know that I'm not dealing with a bunch of 12 year old kids here.

i'd rather be a loser than a weiner, ahem, winner that can't figure out that 2000 was never meant to be a multimedia based OS. Sure 2000 is great for the down and dirty power users, but face it, it was not meant for granny to log onto and edit little johnny's kindergarten graduation videos. so, take it up with microsoft and get your money back that you paid for movie maker. OH YEAH, it was free!

I was hoping to learn how to put a vcr tape onto my computer & found this site. I use WIndows 2000 & could not download Windows Movie Maker. I am desperately trying to learn something new. I take great offense to curtybob's reply; "Sure 2000 is great for the down and dirty power users, but face it, it was not meant for granny to log onto and edit little johnny's kindergarten graduation videos." I must say that many of us are not computer-savvy however, even us "granny's" want to learn new things. So, curtybob, what program do you suggest I can get for FREE (am on fixed income) to put my video tapes onto my computer?

Don't take offense.

Curtybob is a great guy and was only responding to the original poster who was being impolite.

He will do his utmost to help anyone. If he dosn't answer, try posting a new topic so your question will get more exposure.

Sorry, SC. Didn't mean to offend anyone who actually wanted help.

Also, a bit late on this... apologies.

Will do some looking to see if this has been resolved, and will come back to it if not.

Seeing as how you only have one post, you may have gotten help elsewhere.... but if you're still around:

Do you have a way to connect a VCR to the PC? This will need to be dealt with before any software can be recommended.
