Try to get TweakUI from microsoft? Isn't there a copy of that program for 2k?

Maybe if you look in the "Control Panel" tab of TweakUI you can check the box for Add/Remove Programs.

Yupp,

Just get TweakUI. There is options in there where you can disable to see most things in control panel. Chances are you have just disabled that 1 somehow.

Failing that. Just Stick ya windows 2k cd, click install it to the same place, It will refresh all the important windows settings, Set a few things back to default. But you still keep all your stuff.

Thumbs up

You can also get a baseball bat and wack it a couple times, and if that doesn't work pouring water on it helps.

ad/remove programs problem

I have a similar problem and a solution. Try to replace de appwiz.cpl system file from system32. To do so you can try :
1)Start >Run->type: Sfc /scannow. You must have the Win2000 CD in your CD ROM
This command check and replase the corrupted system files.
2) You can just replace the appwiz.cpl file if you have the installation kit. The file in your installation kit is named : appwiz.cp_. That means it is archived and you can use WIN RAR to extract it.

I do not have the kit right now. Please send me the file, if you can, by email.

THANX
