DHCP issues with a configured Wireless LAN

I have a problem with the server "not" assigning dynamic IP address on the Wireless NIC. I have provided the complete configuration details and the problem statement below.

Current Setup
OS: Windows 2003
Number of NIC: 3
  • A PCI ethernet 10/100 Mbps card
  • A PCI Wireless Lan 802.11 b/g card
  • A ADSL Internet (USB) Modem (Not sure if this should be termed NIC)
The two network cards (Wired Lan and Wireless Lan) are bridged as say (BidgeLan) and they have a manually assigned private IP address of10.230.0.1 (Subnet Mask 255.0.0.0)

The server is also a active directory hosting a local domain inet.com (non-internet)

The server connects to internet via the ADSL connection and a public internet IP address is assigned.

The server has a configured DNS and DHCP
[DNS] Resolves local requests and passes external names to ISP DNS server.
[DHCP] Setup to assign address to client on the Bridge Network starting from 10.230.0.2 to 10.230.0.254
[Routing and Remote Access] This service has been configured to setup NAT/Basic firewall service on the server. All traffic on the bridge is routed to the NAT setup, which then forwards internet requests to the ADSL NIC, so that all clients get a seamless internet connection.

Problem Statement
When this setup was done both wired and Wireless LAN was working fine but suddenly DHCP would not assign IP address to client machiens accessing the network via Wireless. The Client NC then assigns a 169.* IP address which then does not connect to the internet. If re-configure everything from scratch the Wireless Network seems to operate fine for some days and then the DHCP suddenly fails and I am stuck with this problem. Wireless connectivity is established but DHCP would not assign any IP address to the client and that is my problem.

Please note: Wireless network is set to operate on AdHoc mode as it is a PCI card and not an access Point.

I would be glad to provide any more information that may be required.

Many thanks in advance

sorry for late reply.

Question, what would happen if you assign static IP to your wireless NIC......you could configure you DHCP server to reserve a range of IP addresses and the assign them to your server NIC.

Cheers
