searching in windows xp

i have microsoft office 2000 professional installed on my machine
i am running windows xp professional
every time i use the "search" in the start menu, Office tries to install itself when i click on "all files and folders"

why

any help please

This is because most people just do a default install of Office. The first thing you shoud do when you are installing office, is make sure you install EVERYTHING. Else you get an annoying little window pop-up like you said when you try and do something.

This is because the default set-up doesn't install everything, just the very basics.

So get the Office 2K CD, and install absoloutely everyting. It doesnt take up much space so there shouldnt be a problem
