Internet Explorer 7.0 installation problem in Win 2000 professional

Hi all,

I installed Windows 2000 professional in my machine. I tried to install Internet Explorer 7.0 but it shows the error like "setup could not verify the integrity of the files needed for installation. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running on this computer.". What shall I do?

IE 7 doesnt support Windows 2000 as explained in the following link:

I dont think this error is for the same u better reinstall again IE7 and i think u will get solved from this. first remove IE7 and restart machine after restarting machine u install agian

I chat with microsoft customer service, he told me that IE7.0 doesn't support with Windows 2000 professional because "For Microsoft to deliver the highest quality of support possible, it is necessary to expire support for discontinued products and apply those resources to support the latest developments and technologies from Microsoft. Warranty support is no longer available for Windows 2000. Therefore, Internet Explorer 7 is not compatible"

Actually IE7.0 does supports
1. Windows XP Service Pack 2(SP2)
2. Windows XP Pro x64 Edition
3. Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition
4. Windows Server 2003 SP1 or SP2
5. Windows Server 2003 ia64 Edition and
6. Windows Vista
