Windows Time problem

Hi,
I am facing a Windows time problem with windows 2003 server.
No service pack have been applied but only hotfixes, including windows time hotfix.
the problem is as follows:
- We have a server as the source of the time
- We can retrieve the time from an other server through the network. We have tested it with a small shareware meaning the problem does not come from the network infra. It comes apparently more from the windows stuff.
Moreover an ISA firewall is being used and apparently correctly set up with routes. (but by shutting down the ISA FW it does not work either. The time server is pingable though)

Any idea is welcomed
Thanks and Regards,
M.

The time fix messed my system up. Try removing it.

problem solved

Hi,
The problem has been solved.
There was actually several problems ongoing.

A batch file had been run updating the registry settings for the windows time with some errors.

Mainly a space was left in the reg value at that location:
hkey local machine system currentcontrolset services w32time parameters.
instead of timeservername,0x8 there was a space and other informations after. Moreover it was in an non logical location, under software policies which should not.

Added to that there was a prob with the ISA firewall config. Several tests were done to add ip routes policies to reach the time server without any success until the information came that the media routes should exactly match the ISA ones. Then ISA routes, policies and networks have been resetted and only one network has been bent to the nic concerned.
problem solved, time is now updating.
Thanks for having a look,
Cheers,
M.
