XP pro hangs at personal settings

Hi,
This one is similar to, but not quite the same as mentioned in other start up threads:
PC has got two personal log ons (both administrator rights). Go to log on 1, enter password and after a while it still sits there and no more disk activity is occurring. hit the ESC key and it boots in. I then closed it in the hope that it would save configuration over the top, but again it won't start the way it's meant to. The other log on starts without a hitch.

Any clues/help very much appreciated.

It sounds like the other log in is corrupted. Delete it and re-create a new one.
