Windows 2003 server cannot be ping

Hi, i have a w2003 server which have 2 network card. 1 connected to switch which connects to my entire network. 1 network card connected to a wireless router/modem to connect to internet. The rest of the PC connected to the switch has no prblm going to internet or browse the network. But when i use a laptop to connect wireless to the modem/router, i can go internet but cannot ping or find the w2003 server anywhere. The network card that is connected to the switch named "LAN" and the the one connected to modem/router named "WAN". "LAN" is the one giving ip address to the rest of the pc. "WAN" get its ip from the modem/router. Even if i switch "WAN" to static also the same prblm exist. I suspect some thing that i did not configure correctly on the newly install w2003 server. Can you pls help me?

Thanks in advance

which one does your DHCP? you want your Router do the DHCP and Server have the static IP address in order to work properly.

Cheers

if can i want my server is doing the dhcp. but if i off the dhcp on the modem/router, the wireless client that connecting to the modem/router can't get the ip address. That's y i enable the dhcp on the modem/router, so that the wireless client and the WAN connection get thier ip from the modem/router. Maybe what you mean is activate the WAN connection also to be dhcp? I've already have my LAN connection as a dhcp server.

Hi Thanks for your advice. I've solve the prblm following your advice. I've disable the dhcp on the modem/router and give the server WAN connection a static ip. Wireless client now can browse the network and see the server.

thks alot
