Multimedia Audio Controller and PCI Device drivers needed.

Hello, all.

I have an IBM Thinkpad that runs an Intel 82443MX AC'97 'audio device'. (According to Aida32)

My computer detects both an unknown PCI Device and an unknown Multimedia Audio Controller. When I click them both in the Device Manager, it says that no drivers are installed for either.

And I'd really like my sound.

If anybody could help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I ran Belarc for your review.

I also need help installing said drivers once I get them, if it's not too much to ask.

If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

One more thing. When I run DXDiag, it says that no sound card is detected. However, it's a laptop so it has an on-board one. It worked fine before I switched from 98 to 2000, now there's just no sound at all.

I don't know how to check, and it didn't bring it up on Belarc. The laptop was given to me, so I don't have access to the box or manual.

you don't need a box or manual......it could T90 , E600 or something similar to this.....it's written right on the panel or you could tunr the laptop around see what it say under it.

Cheers

It says Type 1171 if that's what you mean.

Thanks, by the way.
