How to retrieve Windows 2003 Server Product key from slave Hard disk

Okay, just so everyone knows I've used the search feature for this one but the software suggested on the thread doesn't work, I've tried using RFV, Produkey and AIDA32 still I can't seem to get the damn Product Key.

This all started when our Windows 2003 server crash a couple of days ago, We (me and one of my co-workers) tried to make it boot but all it displays is some file is missing, I already placed a new hard disk on the computer and re-installed a fresh copy of Windows 2003 Server but there is one freaking problem I don't have a copy of the legitimate product key for the server. I need to retrieve the product key from the old hard disk (which is now slaved to my station via usb) so I can activate it. Our boss is overseas, and I couldn't wait for him just to fix this.

When you try to boot the drive what is the error message?

Nags about some missing file, I can't remember. I tried using the recovery console for Windows 2003 but my PC freezes upon going to the screen. I have all the files secured on my PC I just need the legitimate product key to get things working again.
