100% CPU usage while copying from dvd-rom

hi guys!!

i've got a brand new pc but i've got a big problem: when i copy a file from the dvd rom [makes no difference if i use the dvd-rom or the burner] the cpu usage goes up to 100% and all the other programms begin to lag.. especially winamp

hmm.. anybody got an idea why? or what can i do against that bug??

my system is: win2k prof sp3
amd athlon xp3200+
512 mb ram
ati radeon 9500pro

so i think the system should be fast enough to manage copying files with much less than 100% cpu usage..
