How do you stop desktop saves

Hi

I have a small network running 2000 server with XP & Vista clients, I would like to stop clients saving to their desktops, the reason being that they have a network drive that is auto backed up every night and I am concerned that any desktop file saves are not backed up, I would like to either;

1: Stop desktop saves altogether
2: Backup desktops every evening
3: Store desktops on the server

Does anyone know of any way I can resolve this issue?

Cheers

I assume you are talking about AD environment, correct ?

I would set the users with roaming profile so what ever they have would be saved on the server rather than local machine....here is some starting tips about GPO.
