Why can't I update my Win 2000 OS?

I have re-installed Win 2000 on my 2nd PC. When I tried Windows Update the Browser (IE and Firefox) failed to connect to the server. I have tried a number of Microsoft sites and the same happens. Other sites that I use will connect OK. Any ideas?

Hi, first you can only get upadtes using IE but here is the direct link to SP 4 for 2000 just save it to your desktop.
