Win 2000 USB printer sharing issue

I am curious about whether it was possible to host a USB printer onto a windows 2000 computer and allow it to have others print to it. The other computers are running windows xp with the latest service pack. I did have it running, and the other computers are run on a lan at the moment. I did install the newest version of Symantec End-Point Protection onto the computers. I did have the computers printing to them at one point, but not sure if I was missing something or what happened. Is there any walkthroughs available or some guidance on how to get the computers printing to the printer again, or what I did wrong?
