Application (Media Player) remains minimized

I launch Media Player 9.0 but it remains minimized in the task bar.
This problem appeared recently after working correctly for a long time.
Music plays ok when the associated Media file is opened but there is no user interface to control the player, nor any window to show video.
The properties page for Media Player is set to Run in Normal Window. Changing the Properties to run Minimized or Maximized does not resolve the problem.
Selecting Maximize, Minimize or Restore from the task bar has no effect. Size is greyed out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Media Player 9.0 from the Windows Update site. The problem persists.

Problem resolved with manual uninstall and reinstall of WMP 9.0.

SYMPTOM:
======
The user interface of Windows Media Player did not show up.

CAUSE:
=====
The Media Library information in the user profile was corrupt. We got this conclusion because WMP worked fine in the other user accounts.

RESOLUTION:
=========
Clear up the Media Library folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

Manually uninstall Windows Media Player and reinstall it.
