Unhappy Multimedia Audio Device - No sound

I think I have royally screwed up my computer in an attempt to fix the "no sound" issue. My computer stats from Belarc are listed below. I have absolutely no sound on my computer and the Multimedia Audio Device is currently not work (error message 28). Can anyone give me any kind of direction to fix this problem?

i have rebooted my computer and apparently my sound device has stopped working, everytime i try to play any music i get this message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." this is really bugging me now, so i thought u might be able to help me with this. help would be appreciated, thanx!
