32bit or 64bit?

Does any know if when you buy windows vista if you need to specify wether you want 32bit version or 64bit version? I at was at MS wesite looking into buying vista ultimate home and they dont seem to list an option for 32 / or 64. Are they on the same setup disc? Any help would be appriciated , Thanks

I am considering Windows XP (I run Windows 2000 now). I always stay at least 1 product behind the new Microsoft product releases, since their new products are notoriously bad for having glitches and security holes. I am getting tired of the Microsoft marketing methods of making you pay dearly if you want all of the nice features of a new product - it sounds like the home basic version of Vista is a stripped down piece of crap - you have to pay big bucks to get the bells and whistles. I haven't talked to anyone that I know that is running out to buy Vista. Microsoft marketing methods are just making Linux look more appealing.

I will only convert to vista after they get some better support for x64 (drivers and programs) and release at least a SP1

option avail depending on comp architecture...standard ship is 32 bit, must request 64 bit and have heirarchy to run it as such....not virtual.
