Question What is touchscreen support?

I read over at Wikipedia that Windows Vista Premium will have touchscreen support included as part of Tablet PC. Not knowing what any of that actually means, is it saying that all of the icons and stuff on my computer, which I need a mouse in order to click on them, will allow me to touch them instead of clicking on them to get 'em going?

"Touchscreen support" means that if your computer has a touch screen, Vista will let you use it.

How do I determine that? I take it the average computer doesn't have one.

It's safe to say that if you don't know whether your monitor has a touch screen, you don't have a touch screen. You can go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer and look up the specifications, though.

If it's a standard make...Gateway, Dell, HP, Compaq, eMachine...and you didn't specify a touch screen as well as pay extra for it, it's not likely you have one.
