TSSTcorp TS-L532U not reading/writing CDs on Vista

I have a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L532U ATA Device (DVD+R9:2.4x, DVD+RW:8x/4x, DVD-RW:8x/4x, DVD-ROM:8x, CD:24x/10x/24x DVD+RW/DVD-RW) (copied from Everest Home) on my laptop. I had XP till a few months ago, then I installed Vista RTM without problems. But now my drive doesn't read or write CDs, only DVDs.

I have Samsung LiveUpdate, but when trying to solve the problem through this program, it said the model was not supportable.

I know it's a long shot, but did anyone have this problem or does anyone know what should I do?

In some cases updating the firmware on the CD drive could fix the problem, I don't have time to dig out the firmware for your drive right now......next suggestion is ASPI driver: Most CD/DVD-ROM software (cd rippers, recording software, tools,...) use the ASPI interface to communicate with the drive. The ASPI interface is a driver from Adaptec which is shipped with Windows 9x......Windows NT and Windows 2000 do not ship with an ASPI driver but you can download the Nero ASPI manager for free on the Nero website....This could potentially fix the issue:

Cheers

Thanks snowmonkey for replying. I put the ASPI driver for XP on Nero's layer and rebooted, but didn't work

If it helps, I know my firmware is AS04..

Sorry for posting twice, but I've searched high and low for a way to resolve this and didn't find anything. Can anyone help me, please?
