preformance prob

Ok Guys first of all my specs:

Windows Vista Buisness
AMD athlon X64 3200+
1gb Ram
Nvidia 6800GT 256mbram
Gygabite K8vt800m MOBO
VIA vt8237 Raid
200 GB maxtor S-ATA hd
160GB Seagate S-ATA hd

Now my problem,

Since vista beta 1 i've been having problems with preformance, but i always thought it would be fixed in the final version. This is not the case. My problems contain the "Sound Stuttering" problem which has been reported on this forum already for several times. But i know this is the main problem. I feel it is just one of the effects of a major preformance problem. Because it has also effect on copying files on the HD, this takes a long time, atleast looking at the windows xp preformance. I THINK it is something to do with the vt8237 RAID drivers because they have been giving trouble since Beta 1 on my pc. I tried everything, well atleast i tried to reinstall the VIA vt8237 RAID several times. Normal install, removed the drivers trough device manager. But i still have the problem. Now i really don't know what the awnser to my problem is, I just want to run Vista in normal speed. PLZ HELP

Grz

I'm very interested about "Sound Stuttering".....I have seen that on Dell system and the fix was something simple but that was Windows Xp Home, anyways, I have to find the detail first:

Question, Do you hear the stuttering only when you play a DVD of music CD ? OR, Does it happen when you play a MP3 file off your hard drive too ?

Cheers

it happens everytime i play a mp3 file. But as from today the problem occurs less, because i've been messing around again with my S-ata drivers, and it seems the problem is fixed now. But my preformances are still not that grat. startup takes about 4 mins. and more then 3 open programs makes my sound stutter again. What am i doing wrong??

Please read what is in the following link, it's regards to storage input-output mode (UDMA and PIO mode).....I think you issue has something to do with operating system changing the SATA drive mode to slower speed, read on and let us know:

very known issues with nvidia in vista...evidently they didnt get the update in time or just didnt bother for vistas release....radeon works terrific, gateway and dell factory standards work fine too.

the vista auto updater should catch the new firmware upgrade from nvidia and let ya know....

but, yeah, several friends with nvidia/vista issues.
