No Sound on Vista Ultimate
Hello,
Please help!
Problem: No sound since I upgraded from Win XP to Win Vista Ultimate.
What's happened: Upon installing the new OS, I got an error msg saying that the Intel Integrated Audio for my system is incompatible with my MB. I thought this was strange, considering I am currently running an AMD Athlon 2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core. I would get this annoying pop-up until I disabled this service via msconfig.
What I tried to do:
1) At first, I attempted to disable the integrated audio via BIOS. Unfortunately, I would have video up till win booted. It was very annoying, so I had to re-enable it on BIOS. (but video did work on safemode.
2) I attempted to uninstall the previously installed Sigma Tel HD Audio Driver, v. 5.10.4647.4 and reinstalling it, but that still didn't work.
3) Then I uninstalled the 5.10 driver version and installed the 6.10 driver version, but it still didn't work.
4) then I tried running the command "(something).svc" and starting/restarting the Windows Audio as such, but it turns out that the "dependency features" couldn't initiate. Error 1068, I believe.
Additional Info: I was previously running the corporate version of Norton AntiVirus, but that won't run due to incompatibility issues with my OS.
Please let me know what your thoughts are. I'm out of ideas and soundless. Here are my specs:
