no sound for Vista Home Premium, help!

I recently got vista home premium and like everyone else installed it... and yes I have no sound!! I'm ok with computers but i am not mega good with them and all the thread etc i read just makes no sense to me!! I have a sony vaio VGN-FE31H and all i want to do is get my sound back! someone please tell me in complete English () how to get my sound back, if at all possible!?!

installing instructions are given on the site,install the Sony Shared Library before installing the audio driver
