disabled devices in Vista

Hello,
I have a new computer with Vista on it. I disabled two devices (the computer's mic and also a usb audio device) and now they have 'disappeared' so to speak. I looked under my device manager and neither one were there. I did a search which did not result in anything either. I did NOT remove these, only disabled them. When I disabled them I did so with the expectation that they could be easily enabled again, but apparently this is not the case
If anyone could help me to get these enabled and working again I would really, really appreciate it!

Hiya, how did you disable these services? Have you gone in to Administrative tools in control panel and checking if the services are visible? or did you do it via MSCONFIG?

Provide more info if possible please.

Or talk us through the steps on how you disabled them.
