Vista Home Premium

Just bought a new HP Pavillion, with Vista Home Premium. However, the only word processing software apparently included is Notepad, which does not open e-mail attachments in text format. Is the omission of Word intentional? Any suggestions for acquiring Word?

Word is not a part of Windows. It's a part of Microsoft Office, although you can buy it separately.

Wordpad, on the other hand, does come with windows and it can handle rich text and doc formats.

If you'd rather have something free, Open Office is free for personal use. It handles all standard Microsoft formats.
