HP tx1001au swab vista with XP

Hi guys, I have a HP laptop tx1001au with standard Vista and I am in the process to swab Vista for XP as I don't like Vista. I have found most of the needed drivers but I have problems with onboard microphone and my screen is very slow to a point that it is like a water line going over the screen everytime I move it. I suppose the recovery rate is not up to scratch. I have not tried the Tablet feature yet as I am at the moment happy if the laptop works for normal day to day use.
Has anybody have had any luck in this sort of operation before?

Vista operating system is the slowest of all, I too had a very bad experience, I have a Lenovo Laptop, with Vista home basic, on a 512 MB RAM, which Microsoft says as the basic minimum requirement, but it takes me more that 10 mins to boot and show up the desktop
