No Sound!!!

I just built a computer with a ASUS motherboard that has a Realtek sound card. But there is no sound. When i go to device manager to check it has a "High definition audio device" installed, but there is NO SOUND!!
I tried installing the drivers from Realtek but that hasn't worked.

Install the chipset drivers from the motherboard cd
