Updating Vista drivers?

Hey everyone,

I am having some major troubles with my PC performance!

Some background info; My PC have been steadily decreasing in its performance these last months, nothing serious that i could'nt live with though. However, the troubles started when i installed vista on my machine, if it was slow before it is now ultra slow!

I am having troubles watching videos etc. because of the latency... First i thought it was a virus, but I have tried to clean my PC several times and have been helped by some semi-professionals, unfortunately with no effect whatsoever!

I think i might have pinned the problem down to some few possible solutions, however i would very much appreciate it if You could help me to crack this one?

A possible cause for the latency could be my vista drivers, or the lack of such, or it could be a hardware error - this is the possible causes that I could think of!

Did you do a clean install of Vista or an upgrade (over the top of the XP installation)?

If you did an upgrade, that is likely the source of the worsening problems. Performing an upgrade on top of an operating system that's already having problems seldom fixes the problem and generally makes things worse.

I know the feeling with Vista! But all is not lost, goto your motherboard web site and see if there is an update then also try audio & video drivers, new updates are coming out all yhe time and you must keep up to date. Also try this link for a slow PC http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...storeperf.mspx

It applys to Vista even more so than XP!

Guess that could be the problem then, i did my update on top of windows XP. However, i did use the Vista CD to format my disk drive before installing?

Regarding the drivers to my motherboard, i have not been able to find any vista drivers for my asustek p4c800-e
