Downgrading Vista PC to XP

Seems there is a fair amount of resistance to Vista. Microsoft is quietly offering an XP downgrade option to PC makers:

They are simply bowing to pressure. The big players in the computer industry made such a change ages ago.

M$ know Vista is rubbish.

Some folks think it's partly to head off Linux, and especially Ubuntu. It's no secret there has been a good deal of talk in the Linux community that Microsoft's Vista woes were their opportunity.
