eMachine Vista basic is regecting XP media edition.

I bought a new computer an E-Machine CeleronD with vista basic. I hate vista more then Macintosh, so naturally my first step would be to install XP. I have xp media center addition, and it won't install. It its a hardware issue, and I was just wondering if anybody else was having this kind of trouble. Sorry I don't know what the actual error message was, but basically its impossible. I'm going to try 1 more time for good measure, and I'll post back later with the details.

XP Media Center Edition has a very strict hardware compatibility criteria , and it won't install if it detects any component which falls outside that list. That's why most people shied away from buying it off the shelf as an OEM product and opted to buy it pre-installed on a new PC instead. For this reason also it was never available as a retail boxed version, since Microsoft's intention was that only system-builders should install it.
