Angry pop ups on new lap top with microsft vista

Help, my daughter has a new lap top with microsft vista and it comes with a free 90 days norton virus protection but after 1 day she keeps getting loads of pop ups even though her pop up blocker is on.

Is their a free download any where that is compatible with vista that can stop the pop ups? thanks for your help.

First of all, REMOVE Norton.

Norton is the worst piece of software to put on a computer. The software itself brings up pop-ups and annoys you BIG time. Highly recommend uninstalling it.

I recommend using AVG for the antivirus of the computer (link below).

And use Ad-Aware for Spyware protection (link below).

Both software are free!!!!!

Hi, Dave
Removed Norton and installed AVG, done a scan and it found and quarantined a trojan horse, also installed ad adware but still getting the pop ups, they are not appearing on the web page but are actually taking over the programme that she is on. (hope i have explained this right)

What does the pop up say? Can you take a print screen when the pop up is there paste it into paint, then use photo bucket to host the pic.

Hey tell her instead of using IE...tell her to download firefox (google it for the correct site) but if you're still unsure why go to this link:

Make sure she uses this browser!
