intel845 gl driver for vista

i recently installed vista in my system(p4 1.8ghzM,intel 845gl m/b).but i couldnt install graphics driver for the motherboard.it says driver is not compatible with os.i visited intel ebsite but only xp drivers r there.plz help

Sorry but Intel doesn't have drivers available at their site for that controller. I know as a fact Intel 845G will not support Vista's Aero theme or any of the nice features since it is not a Directx 9 capable graphics chip. I'm afraid you'll need to buy a new video card. Is this computer we are talking about a Laptop?
If you just want to get a decent Vista basic theme display you can install the drivers by going into Device Manager and manually selecting the driver you will be installing. If you believe you need some help doing this, please feel free to ask

i think u hav a soln to my problem.its a desktop.i even tried to run the driver installer in compatibility mode but "compatibility mode" tab was not found in properties.i only need 800*600 resoln.

Download the driver from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/deta...=9033&lang=eng

Extract the contents of the win2k_xp14103.exe file.

Go to Device Manager, right click your device and select Update Driver Software. Browse your Computer for driver software (browse to the previously extracted files) point to the Win2000 folder of the extracted file and select the ialmnt5.inf
