cannot close control panel window

hi,

system configuration: labtop ibm lenovo t61 , 2gb ram , nvidia card, matshita burner, os vista ultimate installed.

problem: unable to close control panel window.
following message: " This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

have tried different anti-virs software to eliminate possible harm done by trojan or other malware, however negative.

besides above system is running smooth and no other problem.

does anyone has any idea or know solution to solve this quickly.

looking forward to your replies.......

regards,
Leo

Hi, thanks for your quick response.

Alt+F4 have the same result:" this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

Any other suggestions?

Question

This generally means that either you do not have sufficient permission level to make changes in those areas, OR there are some services turned off or corrupted.

Another possibility is a third party program such as a spy/malware detector that is preventing it on the grounds of trying to be helpful.
