question about OS's

i have Vista on my computer ... but i actually want to have linux ...

is there a possibility that i can install that OS onto my computer? or have dual OS running

is there a possibility that i can do this?
can i just download linux and install it as a OS and have vista still running?

The easiest way is to have two hard drives and put Linux on one and Vista on the other or you can configure a dual boot system although you will have to dp some research on it.
