no network icon on taskbar

hey
i dont understand why the network icon isnt showing on my taskbar
it was showing up be4.. is there a way into how to show it in the taskbar????
plz give me the instructions

(remember this is vista not xp)

Right click on the task bar>properties>notification and is network ticked?
