windows update problem

iv just brought a new e.system computer and i tryed to update it with windows update but i get an error message 8000ffff??? does anyone no what the problem is and how i can resolve it iv contacted microsoft but they still havent got back to me!!! pls help thanks

Hi Lisa, this fix may help. (from MS Technet) http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/...6997&SiteID=17

1: Open up "Control Panel" and navigate your way to "Programs and Features".

2: Click "View installed updates" on the left hand side.

3: Find the update KB929777 and uninstall it.

4: Attempt to install the update again in Windows Update

5: Once successful, restart your PC.
