Webcams for Vista64...VLC Player for Vista64...Nero Vista64
I have tried two webcams already and they just don't work with my computer Vista64. First tried with a Logitech webcam and then Microsoft's VX-3000. After trying and trying Microsoft's tech support told me to lower the memory on my computer form 6gigs down to 3gigs. They guided me how to do that and the webcam started working. Still, that didn't satisfy me. I mean, why would I have to play with my computer specs just for the webcam? I just want a webcam I can connect, install, and have it ready! Are there any webcams out there who work just fine with a Vista64 computer (with more than 6gigs of ram)?
Also, tried downloading VLC but somehow can't make it work. I can't even find it on my computer after downloading it. Is there a Vista64 download for VLC?
One more, Nero software. I had the older version 6 and it worked fine. Now, would the Nero 8 Ultra work just fine with a Vista64? I am planning to buy it. I just need it to burn data to CDs, make music CDs, edit my personal movies, etc.
Your help is appreciated

I'm surprised that VX-3000 does not work with 64 bit , that's on the list of supported webcam on Microsoft site...and I don't think lowering the RAM has anything to do with the driver not working at all.
It seem like everyone is behind with releasing a working driver for Vista (never mind 64 bit).'
MS has good policy for product return, have asked them if you could return the VX-3000 for a 7000 series?
In regards to Nero....I was just reading about it and it says...Nero 8 supports VISTA 64 bit but couple modules such as InCD and one other one does not work ...so I guess if you need those features then you have to wait for a newer release.
Sorry couldn't help much.
Cheers

Hey Snowmonkey,
I just bought a webcam that works wonders with my Vista 64 bit system. It's the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. Sure, a bit pricey but it has been the best webcam I have used so far. Carl Zeiss lens, what else can you ask for. Great image quality, sound, mechanics, etc.
I was surprised with the VX-3000 as well. Being Microsoft and Vista ready. Once I lowered the memory the camera started working but I didn't like that. So I returned it to the store.

What is "InCd"? All I would use Nero 8 for would be to burn data (pictures, videos, documents) and my music as well as picture and video editing.
Thanks for the help!

Here is exact explanation by Nero:
"InCD, InCD Reader
SecurDisc™ capable drive to remove duplication protection from SecurDisc™ discs
"

HHhhmmm I don't think I have ever used SecureDiscs or if I will ever need them. Do you use that? For what I am going to do I can imagine I would be fine.
