Exclamation Desktop Setting Panel-Russian Back to English

HI ALL,

sO STUPID I DOWNLOADED DREAMSCENE 32-BIT RUS.EXE. iT CHANGE MY DESKTOP SETTING PANEL INTO RUSSIAN LANGUAGE BUT THE REST IS OK AND WORKING FINE. ANYONE PLEASE HELP HOW TO BRING THIS BACK TO ENGLISH LANGUAGE (ONLY DESKTOP SETTING PANEL).

on XP, "desk.cpl" is responsible for the desktop, so perhaps just the one applet is changed.
Does Vista support the "sfc.exe" command? If so, running the tool should rectify matters. Or you can try a manual replacement from the install disk.

It is possible that themecpl.dll.mui has changed, which resides in your C:\Windows\System32\en-US folder. You could right-click it and check the properties, then check the language which should say "Language: English (United States)".

sfc.exe as DC says above should probably sort that file too, if it's the culprit. Other options include a system restore which may have stamped these files since they are regarded as system, but I'm not sure. If that fails you could try copying the files from another Vista machine and overwriting (although safe mode would be best).
