Ramhelp

Windows Vista 32-bit operating system

i istalled 4GB of ram
but when i lookat the system info it shows this:
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00GB

Total Physical Memor 2.75 GB



why total physical memory is only2.75GB when i installed 4gb

4 Gb of memory is only recognized in a 64 bit OS. not 32 bit.

Presumably the smaller amount showing is the available ram.
Vista uses your physical memory as a file cache. I guess that's where it went.
32 bit will work with 4 gigs.
