Unknown Typing Problem

I have a issue where when i try and make some capital
letters like k, o, l and so forth they wont, i can only make
capital letters with caps lock on, also most of the symbols
like at for the hotmail symbol and the dollar symbol wont
work, if i try it just leaves it blank as if i never hit the key,
any ideas to my situation?
