Maxter 500

Hi

I accidently plugged my laptop transformer into my Maxtor 500 external hd.
Now it doesn't work. Only a faint green led shows and the laptop doesn't find it.

Is it repairable and if not is it possible to retrieve my data?

Any help is appreciated.

Paul

Perhaps you could start off by using a new enclosure for your
external drive.

It may be a risk to test the Maxtor 500 by removing it from your
present external enclosure and trying to slave it in a computer
internally so,I would consider the new enclosure first.

Newegg and Tiger Direct are normally reliable and cost effective.
