I am in Germany but am American and only speak English. I want to buy a laptop here, it comes with Vista Home Premium, but it's the Deutsch version. Being the Deutsch version, is the only difference that the default language it's set to is Deutsch, or are there other differences? Can I buy it here, change the language settings to English and have it operate the same as if I bought it in America, or will there always be a hint of Deutsch somewhere?

On another note, would anyone know if the power supply on the actual laptop would be different, or is the only difference the actual plug into the wall. In otherwords, could I take the computer back to the states, buy a Dell charger for American wall plugs, and have it work the same?

Thanks in advance.

The german version of windows has the german language embedded into it -- menus, dialogue boxes, warning messages, everything. It cannot be changed to another language. If you want an English version then you need to buy the English version.

If you take a european laptop to the US, it should work as long as you buy a new US-market mains adapter for it.
