Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk And Press Enter
This is the same statement I have been receiving before the pc attempts to boot.
My Hp Windows Vista is a Pavilon Version 5.14 - . I haven't done anything different and just this morning this statement pops up
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
I took it to my brothers, - removed hard drive- and he has special equipment (software) to test the drive- he couldn't read it - we've determined that the Drive was bad so I picked up a new one Hitachi and installed it. I still get the same Failure statement.
I've checked all wiring and connections look good.
I go to the boot Menu (esc) top of the screen says
==Select a boot first device==
it has HDD Group (Hitachi) First on the list
CD-Rom Group 2nd
I can't move CD-ROM to be first on the list
When I click Enter on it- pc re-boots- so I'm not able to verify if it's first on the list. When I go back to check Boot Menu the Boot Devices are in the same order.
I hit F9 for diagnostics
Testing: Quad Core Processor CPU Test - Passed
Testing: Memory -- Passed
Testing: CDDVDW -- Passed
Testing: Hitachi HDblahblahblah -- Passed
Testing: Boot Path
Error Code : BIOHD-3
Warning : No bootable drivers detected.
I hit F10
Boot
Boot Device Priority
1st Boot Device Floppy Group
2nd Boot device CD Rom
3rd Boot Devie HDD Gropu
4th Bott Device Network Boot Group
The Floppy Group
and Network Group are not installed. - I do notice the wires not connected- do these need to be connected?
I tried to give as much info as I can-- Can you please help???
Thank You
