CD/DRV Driver missing

I have windows vista. Yesterday my DVR rom was missing and I went to Run regedit and followed the path and deleted high and low filters as instructed by tech support at Gateway. The DVD-rom reappeared in My Computer and I was now able to watch a movie. Later the same day, I went to open iTunes. Now a message pops up stating: The registry settings used by iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.

I did NOT install other CD burning software and I did reinstall iTunes but nothing happened. I am still unable to burn a CD from this program.

I called tech support at Gateway and they said they could not help. Not sure why. CAN YOU?

OOPS! I meant DVD driver not what I typo'd. I am sure you understood but I still need help.

From another Forum.

Make sure Itunes is installed. If you removed the Gear driver, reinstall it.

Go to the registry;

Look for:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SYSTEM\
\CurrentControlSet\
Control\
Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Right click in the right section and select "New" Multi Strin Value. Name it UpperFilters.

Right click on it and click Modify. Enter GEARAspiWDM. Press Enter to move to the next line and click OK.

Into the Value Data. Restart your PC and see if this helps. If that fails, try making a Lower filters but with no info.
