Question Sound Lost After Windows Update.

Hello,

Today I installed several windows updates which required me to restart my laptop.

When I did I found that the little audio control icon in the bottom right of the screen had a red "x" next to it and it's now telling me "No Audio Output Device is installed".

I'm pretty sure this was probably caused by the updates, but I can't seem to find out how to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

drivers

what you can do is try to download audio drivers for your laptop. if you do not know how to do that. let me know what kind of laptop you got, i can get the drivers for you.

I have the same exact problem. I am no longer doing automatic updates after this...
My computer is custom though. I have the computer information from Belarc. What information do you need to find a driver for me?

This exact thing happened to me too. I tried to restore my system, I have tried to uninstall my driver and reinstall it then I completely shut down my computer and restarted it. Nothing has worked. It says everything is working, but I still have no sound. So frustrating... help please
