Can't Open Links on webpage

G'day. here is the problem.
the other day, out of the blue, i was unable to open links on one of the webpages that i frequently visit. i have had no problems in the past accessing it, but suddenly, my computer will not open the links. the cursor changes and the link is underlined when the mouse is hovered over it, and i get the click sound, but nothing happens. i have tried it on my housemates computer also and same problem.
the webpage is fine, as i can see alerts of other people posting comments into the links that i cannot access, what do i do?

Have you tried disabling your pop up blocker ? that could be the case if the link is trying to open up into a new window ?
