Wireless works, wired doesn't

Until today I used my computer with a wired connection. But since my Linksys router had some problems with hick-ups I tried to switch to a Netgear instead. This didn't work for some reason and after trying all kind of different stuff I switched back to the original setup, but now my computer is oblivious to the wired connection. For some reason it just fails to see it.

The setup is a Motorola surfboard cable modem connected to a linksys which is connected to my PC and PS3 through ethernet cables.

To sum up, everything worked fine until I messed around with some routers. Then I returned to the original setup and now the wired connection wont work, what could have happened?

Can your PS3 connect to the router / Internet with your LAN (wired) connection? If it can, make sure your PC hasn't disabled your lan card, by going in to Device Manager and Network adapters, see if lan, or something similar is disabled.

Do you get a light on the Pc when you plug in your cable? can you provide more details please.

Check out the TCP/IP properties in the wired device

It may well have been given a STATIC IP which is now different to the new router IP subnet.

If it has remove them all and let the system get an IP from the dhcp server which must be issuing one to the wireless device.

Just one of many areas that may need to be checked

Good Luck

Baudy!
